Who is Dee?
Hi, I’m Dee (alias Debra Carey) and I’ve been involved in the wedding music industry for over 25 years. I’ve also been a wedding musician for many of those years and also a booking agent for wedding clients all over the UK and the World. I’ve helped people find bands, groups, musicians and entertainers that fit with their vision of the perfect day.
My Experience at Weddings
I’ve played and attended more weddings than any wedding co-ordinator that I know. I’ve been honoured to have witnessed so many beautifully emotive ceremonies and it’s always moving to me, how people really still love each other with such abandon! Religious ceremonies, civil ceremonies, Humanist, Buddist, New Age, you name it, I’ve probably experienced. The one thing they all have in common, of course, is love. It really doesn’t matter how you celebrate your wedding day, it’s all about the love of two people.

I often feel that as a guest at weddings, you’re there almost as a witness to the most powerful force in the Universe. Of course, people don’t think of it that way but if you do stop to think about it, everything really is about love! When you witness two people marrying, it’s a poignant reminder to all of us of the really important things in life. As in the movie ‘Love Actually’ love really is all around.

What About Wedding Music?

Well, as a musician I know first hand how important music can be on your wedding day. Although, music is something we take for granted today and can often be left to the last minute when planning your wedding. Music ’sets the mood’ and creates powerful emotions not only for yourself but also for your guests.

There are many moods to people so there too are many different types of music. What do you choose? Which part of your wedding do you have music play? What will keep everyone happy? Many choices must be made and it can be a little overwhelming at times, particularly when you consider there are over 1 million musicians in the UK alone. Professional, semi-professional and amateur musicians, performers and entertainers. There is certainly an abundance of music and entertainment to choose from. So it’s good to know you have an ‘insider’ who can provide the answers to all your questions.

I’ve put this wedding music blog together to provide you with all the information and resources you need to make choosing wedding music and wedding entertainment a simple and enjoyable process. I’ll give you tips from the inside of the music industry and advice from extensive experience working with brides and their families, particularly on the hectic wedding day it’s self, which can be full of tension and problems.
